LG TV Repair Gauteng — The OLED & webOS Specialists
If you own an LG television in South Africa, you almost certainly chose it for one of two reasons: the picture quality of OLED, or the user-friendliness of webOS. Both are class-leading. Both have specific failure modes that require specialist repair knowledge. At Nathtec TV Repairs, we've built our LG service practice around exactly those specialisations — serving customers across Johannesburg, Sandton, Pretoria, Midrand, Centurion, Randburg, Roodepoort, Kempton Park, Boksburg, Germiston, Alberton and Soweto.
LG occupies a fascinating position in the global TV industry. It is the sole producer of large-format OLED TV panels — supplying not only its own ranges but also the OLED panels used by Sony, Philips and Panasonic. This means that anyone with deep LG OLED experience effectively has deep OLED experience full stop. Our technicians' knowledge of WRGB OLED structure, of LG OLED T-Con and LVDS architecture, of webOS partition layouts, of EAX/EBR main-board variants, transfers directly to the equally fast-growing LG NanoCell, UHD LED and new QNED Mini-LED ranges. We are LG specialists by depth and by daily volume.
Genuine LG Parts. OLED-Trained Technicians.
We source LG replacement parts through authorised distributors — never grey-market boards or generic LED strips. T-Con boards are matched to the exact panel revision (a critical detail many LG technicians miss: the same TV model can ship with two or three different T-Con revisions across its production run). LED backlight strips for NanoCell and UHD models are matched to OEM brightness specification. EAX main boards are verified against original firmware. Every part we install is the part LG would have used at the factory.
LG OLED Repair Specialists — C, B, G and Z Series
LG's OLED line-up is the headline reason most Gauteng customers chose LG, and it's where we do most of our LG specialist work. The C Series is by far the most popular in South Africa — we see C1, C2, C3 and increasingly C4 models almost daily. The B Series entry-level OLEDs are slightly less common but identical in repair approach. The G Series Gallery OLEDs are the brightness-boosted MLA panels designed for wall mounting, and they have unique gallery-mode mounting electronics. The Z Series 8K OLEDs are rare but spectacular; we've serviced a handful and have the diagnostic tooling for them. Common LG OLED faults we fix daily: T-Con board failures (vertical lines, half-screen), LVDS ribbon cable damage (intermittent picture), main-board failures (no signal recognition), Pixel Refresher issues (mild image retention), and HDMI 2.1 port damage from gaming cable swapping.
LG NanoCell — The Underrated Performer
LG NanoCell sits between affordable UHD and premium OLED, using a nano-particle absorbing layer over a conventional LED backlight to widen colour purity. Nano75, Nano80, Nano85 and Nano90 are the volume sellers in South Africa. NanoCell sets in our workshop most commonly arrive with two issues: failed LED backlight strips (causing dim or dark patches across the screen) and webOS smart TV faults. Backlight repair on a NanoCell 55-inch is R2,200 to R3,400, on a 65-inch R2,900 to R3,400. We stock LG-spec backlight strips for the 20 most-popular NanoCell models.
LG webOS Software & Smart TV Repairs
webOS is LG's proprietary Linux-based smart TV operating system, and it's genuinely one of the best smart TV platforms on the market. But like any OS, it occasionally goes wrong — especially when interrupted during firmware updates by load-shedding. The most common webOS faults we see are boot loops (LG logo stuck), partition corruption (Smart Hub crashes), Magic Remote pairing failures, ThinQ AI hub failures, Wi-Fi module faults, and Bluetooth audio dropouts. We use LG service mode access, USB recovery procedures, and where necessary eMMC reflows to restore webOS without losing customer settings or installed apps. Most webOS recovery is done same-day for R1,050 to R1,800.
LG UHD & Older LED Smart TVs
LG's UHD LED range — UQ7000, UR7800, UN7300, UK6300 and many variations — is the workhorse of LG's South African line-up. These are excellent affordable 4K TVs that age very well, but after three to five years of daily use we routinely see backlight strip degradation and capacitor swelling on the SMPS. Both are completely repairable for a fraction of replacement cost. UHD backlight strip replacement is typically R1,800 to R2,900 for 43" to 55", R2,900 to R4,500 for 65" to 77". Power-supply rebuild is usually R780 to R1,800. We routinely give LG UHDs another five years of reliable life.
Same-Day LG TV Repairs Throughout Gauteng
We hold inventory of LG-spec parts for every common fault — HDMI ports, backlight strips for the top 25 LG models, OLED T-Con boards for C-series sets, SMPS components, and webOS recovery USBs. That parts-on-hand position is why we can offer genuine same-day LG TV repair across Johannesburg, Sandton, Pretoria, Midrand, Randburg and Soweto.
For any LG OLED, in-home service is strongly recommended. OLED panels are physically the thinnest TV panels ever made — some LG OLED models are barely 4mm thick at the top edge. Even small amounts of flex during transport can damage the WRGB pixel layer. Our in-home OLED service eliminates that risk entirely, and most LG OLED repairs (T-Con, main board, software) can be completed in your home in a single visit.
Honest LG Repair Pricing
We offer a free, no-obligation quotation on every LG repair. We never start work without your written approval. We have no hidden fees. We operate a no-fix-no-fee policy on minor faults — if your TV is unrepairable, you don't pay (a small diagnostic fee may apply on complex board cases). Every LG repair carries a 90-day warranty on both workmanship and parts. If another shop has quoted you an alarming amount for an LG OLED panel replacement, please get a second opinion from us first — many such "panel" diagnoses turn out to be much cheaper T-Con or ribbon-cable issues.
